After over 30 years of Kapaun students parking on Tara Street in the Brookhollow neighborhood, the time has come for Kapaun Mt. Carmel to take responsibility for their students safety. After spending years growing the school to its current capacity of over 900 students, the parking facilities need updated to maintain current registration and safety.
Tara street is also severely congested due to upwards of 60+ Kapaun freshmen parking there on a daily basis. It is also not uncommon for the students to park in front of private residences on Limerick street, which is causing housing depreciation, as it is difficult to sell a house where the street is congested with student's cars.
Originally Tara street only had 'no parking' signs on the East side of the street. The west side near the creek has been over-utilized for student parking causing congestion, safety concerns, property value concerns. At its peak there have been 60-70 vehicles parked down Tara.
After New Years 2026, 'No Parking' signs were installed on the West side of the street. The neighborhood was initially glad to see, but immediately caused the students to begin parking in front of people's homes causing upset home owners.
Mid February 2026. No parking 'zones' were reconfigured down Tara Street allowing Kapaun students to park on Tara yet again. This is not fixing the main issue and is still affecting traffic safety, property values, and student safety.
Tara and Limerick (West) are back to being full of Kapaun student's cars, possibly worse than ever.

"kapaum" does not pay the neighborhood
AKA we could care less. After 30-years, its time for change. Seniors do not require prefferential reserved parking, as their WSU or Butler parking lots do not provide assigned parking. Open parking for all adds approximately 50 unused stalls on a daily basis.
Well, honestly, Kapaun has tried to avoid this situation for over 30 years. They have not yet begun to raise funding or formulate a plan for the students. If you have any interest in donating or assisting with this plan, please visit the Home page and click the "Take Action" button.
